Welcome to the world of Mortal Kombat: Nightblood! We’re glad you stopped by, and if you’re interested in figuring out what our RPG is all about and what you need to know to get set up and playing in our game, then you’ve come to the right spot!

This is our beginner’s guide, which will give you a quick overview of our game, and how to get started if you’re interested in playing as well as links to were more in-depth information about certain aspects of our game can be found. First, some background information:

What we are:

·      A linear play-by-post text role playing game

What we are not:

·      A fan-made video game

·      A MMORPG like World of Warcraft or Everquest

With that said, I’ll explain more about our story. Chronologically MK: Nightblood is set in-between the MK3 and MK4 video games story-wise (with some information from the MK movies and the MK TV shows thrown in) where players are invited to pit their mortal, human characters against the machinations of the fallen Elder God Shinnok to save the Realm of Earth. Please note that you do not have to know anything about Mortal Kombat to play in our RPG!

Links for more information about our story:

·      The Story So Far: A deeper explanation of what we are and when the story is set as well as a summary of the in-game story so far and a listing of the current cast of players and their characters.

·      The FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions about our RPG and how to play it – Very helpful!

Now, after reading all of that, if you’re still interested in playing with us, here’s a step-by-step guide of what to read and do:

1.     First, join our Forums

2.     Read the General Forum Rules: Yes, they are long, but they are that way for a reason. Then after if you want to introduce yourself to everyone, we’d love that and if you’d like to join the RPG…

3.     Read the RPG Rules: Again, these are long, but they are essential to how we play here.

4.     Create and post your RP Character: Please be aware of the following information:

§       There is NO MK tournament currently happening in the story – we are fighting to protect Earth realm from Shinnok’s invasion. Inter-realm travel is cut off currently.

§       No “bad guy” or villain characters allowed (for our reasons why, check our FAQs)

§       No ninja characters or characters whose stories read something like this.

§       Mortal, original characters are in demand, but if you want to play a MK cannon character (like Jax, Sub-Zero, etc.) check here for who is open to be played.

5.     Then you wait for a Storyteller (either HorusRe or Jaibyrd) to read and review your character. Then…

§       If you character is accepted, HorusRe will give you a power level and put you into one of the Nightblood RP threads and then you can finally play!

§       If you character is not accepted, HorusRe or Jaibyrd will be contacting you as to why your character has not been accepted. PLEASE – do not take offense! We are very willing to work with you to get your character ready to get into the game! Please be willing to work with us to make some changes and the character will be accepted in no time, get a power level and allowed into the game!

There you go, what MK: Nightblood is about, how to play and where to find most (there is much more to be found on the Fourms – just read around) of our important information. If there is something you’d like to see here that might help you getting around, or if there is a question we haven’t answered, please feel free to ask Jaibyrd and she’ll get back to you as soon as she possibly can. Thanks for stopping by and we hoped this helped! Hope to see you in the game soon!
